Sterling & Wilson Secures ? 1200 Crore Solar EPC Project in Gujarat

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy has secured a ? 1200 crore order for a 500 MW solar PV project in Gujarat, further strengthening its foothold in India's renewable energy sector.

As stated in the company's press release, the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract covers the design, engineering, and installation of balance-of-system (BOS) components, with a single point of accountability. Additionally, the contract includes operations and maintenance (O&M) services for duration of three years.

"We are proud to receive this prestigious order, which will support India's and especially Gujarat's transition to clean energy," Amit Jain, global CEO of Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Group, said in a company statement. Jain said India's focus on sustainable energy solutions is critical to mitigate climate challenges, enhance energy security, and boost economic growth. India is ramping up its renewable energy capacity to meet its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

"India is one of the world's largest energy markets, making it crucial to prioritise sustainable solutions that address climate challenges while also strengthening energy security, creating jobs, and driving economic growth. As a result, we are optimistic about the future expansion of India's renewable energy sector and our enhanced role in supporting its development," Jain added.
