ReNew, a prominent renewable energy company in India, has successfully commissioned 750 MW of its approximately 1 GW solar project in Rajasthan as part of the 'Make in India' initiative. The remaining 225 MW of the project is slated for completion by January 2025, with the solar panels for this project were manufactured in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Developed in collaboration with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the project will operate under three power purchase agreements (PPAs) and will supply power to Rajasthan, boosting the state's energy self-reliance. ReNew has invested ?21,000 crore in both completed and on-going projects in Rajasthan, with plans to increase this investment to ?62,000 crore by 2030, as part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government.
