NHPC Collaborates with GGGI to Promote Clean Energy Innovations

In a major move towards promoting sustainable development and addressing climate change, NHPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) on November 28th, 2024, at its corporate office in Faridabad. The MoU was officially signed by Shri V.R. Shrivastava, Executive Director (REGH) of NHPC, and Shri Soumya Prasad Garnaik, Country Head of GGGI, and in the presence of Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) of NHPC, and Dr. D.K. Khare, Advisor at GGGI. Senior officials from both organisations were also there at the ceremony.

This partnership seeks to advance innovative clean energy solutions, with an emphasis on agrivoltaics, green hydrogen, and sustainable financing approaches. These initiatives are integral to NHPC's comprehensive R&D efforts to tackle climate challenges and support India's transition to a low-carbon economy.

Through this partnership, NHPC and GGGI will collaborate to explore innovative technologies, combine renewable energy solutions with agricultural practices, and attract investments in green projects. This initiative also supports India's wider climate objectives and its commitment to renewable energy as part of the Paris Agreement.
