Tata Power Solar Systems Achieves 600 Rooftop Solar Installations in Chhattisgarh

16 Sep 2024

Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd (TPSSL) has achieved 600 rooftop solar installations in Chhattisgarh as part of its latest initiative, according to a company official on Sunday. TPSSL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), expanded its rooftop solar program following successful projects in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala. The ‘GharGharSolar, Tata Power ke Sang’ initiative, which began earlier this year in Chhattisgarh, was officially inaugurated this week by Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha and TPREL CEO and MD Deepesh Nanda.

Chhattisgarh has emerged as a key focus area for TPSSL, with over 600 installations amounting to more than 250 MW of capacity across residential, commercial, industrial, and direct projects. The initiative aims to cover all 33 districts of the state.

Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, residents are eligible for central government subsidies: Rs 30,000 for a 1kW system, Rs 60,000 for a 2kW system, and Rs 78,000 for systems ranging from 3 to 10kW.

These subsidies are designed to make solar energy installations more accessible and affordable, facilitating the transition to renewable energy for households without a significant financial burden.
