JSW Energy has announced that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Two, has successfully commissioned a 300 MW ISTS-connected wind power project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, awarded by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under Tranche X.
Following this, the company’s total installed capacity now stands at 7,726 MW, with an additional 2,114 MW under construction, expected to be operational by the end of FY 2025. Currently, JSW Energy’s installed wind capacity is 2,152 MW.
Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy stated, “We are proud to commission our first greenfield wind power plant for SECI, demonstrating our strong execution capabilities and commitment to a greener future for India. This milestone brings us closer to our goal of achieving 10 GW of installed capacity by FY 2025. Additionally, our robust pipeline of renewable projects is driving us towards our target of 20 GW by 2030. I extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated team and partners for their steadfast support.”
JSW Energy’s total generation capacity now stands at 18.2 GW, encompassing wind, solar, hydro, and thermal power plants. The company’s current renewable energy pipeline is 8.3 GW, with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in place for 2.3 GW. Additionally, the company has 4.2 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects. JSW Energy aims to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, with a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
The company’s stock rose by 1.01% to close at Rs 767.90 on Friday, September 13, 2024.
