Adani Green Commissions 250 MW Wind Power Plants in Gujarat's Khavda

26 Jul 2024

Adani Green Energy has commissioned 250 MW of wind power generation at the world's largest 30,000 MW renewable energy plant at Khavda in Gujarat. With this milestone, a cumulative capacity of 2,250 MW has been commissioned at the Khavda plant, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) said in a statement.

It added that the operationalization of 250 MW of wind capacity at Khavda will further strengthen AGEL's leading position in India with the largest operational portfolio of 11,184 MW. The Khavda Renewable Energy Plant is equipped with the world’s largest and most powerful onshore wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a capacity of 5.2 MW.

WTGs with high rated capacity enable optimal land utilisation to achieve higher energy generation from the same location and reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE). The 5.2 MW WTG installed at Khavda is built using the best German technology and is manufactured at the integrated manufacturing ecosystem of Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), strategically located near Mundra Port. AGEL has transformed the barren land of Khavda into a hub of clean and affordable energy. The energy generated from the Khavda RE plant can power 16.1 million homes every year.
