At the Renewable Leadership Summit 2021, organised by the Solar Association and Solis, attendees made the most of an opportunity to listen to and learn from top solar experts and Senior government representatives.
The event also served as the launchpad for Solis India to introduce to two of its most awaited offerings, the updated Solis Cloud, and the Solis Off Grid Hybrid Inverter.
Delivering the first keynote address, Mr K.S. Popli, Advisor, The International Solar Alliance and Former CEO, IREDA, said that India’s target of 450 GW of renewable energy was completely doable today, and despite short term challenges, the country will achieve the same. Highlighting the improvements in the market as well as domestic environment, Mr Popli expressed the hope that industry will benefit from the reforms made, and ensure that the targets are met in good time.
Adding their perspectives to the challenge of 450 GW were, Mr Ranjith Nair, Chief Business Officer, MSI Business, Sterlite Power. Mr Sachin Agrawal, CEO, Robotics Cleaner and Trackers, Solar Vertical, Ganges Internationale Pvt Limited & Mr. Honey Raza, Business Director of Solis India.
Following the panel discussion was the much awaited keynote from Mr Dinesh Jagdale, Joint Secretary, MNRE, on Wind Solar hybrid and Storage. Exuding confidence on India meeting its renewable energy targets, Mr Jagdale highlighted the manufacturing base the country already has in wind energy, and the fast developing base that is coming up for solar energy too. While cautioning against potential disruptions on battery storage, Mr Jagdale stressed that the country was taking multiple steps to prepare for the future in terms of sourcing of raw materials and a strong domestic base. Mr Jagdale’s speech was followed by a panel discussion comprising Mr Awadesh Dwivedi, Head Project Manager, Renewable Business, L&T, Mr Deepak Saxena, head of Engineering, O&M, EHS and Quality, AEPL, Mr. Idrish Khan Chief Technical Officer, Solis India and moderator Mr. Goutam Samanta, Head PV Technology, Juniper Green Technology.
The SolisCloud launch was met with a rousing reception from the attendees, as an offering that further enhances O&M and real time monitoring of plant PV performance. The SolisCloud offers all the functions of the Solis Home/Pro, while adding fresh new functions for Organisation management, IV curve scanning, Dispersion rate analysis Warranty enquiry Message centre etc. Thus enhancing both the responsiveness from Solis and the customer’s experience. All of this on an all new interface that is both user friendly and easy to understand.
Following the SolisCloud launch, the Solis team introduced the Solis Off Grid Hybrid Inverter, a solution for the new trend of storage backed off grid solar PV. The inverter fills a key gap for customers who seek the reliability of brand solis for their off grid solar requirements, with an inverter that delivers. The inverters come in four versions of 4-5kW, with 48V battery in the standard version. With an ability to be completely off grid as well as ongrid while using grid power only as backup, the hybrid inverters will fill a key market need for a quality product in the emerging segment.
Compatible with both lead acid and lithium batteries, these inverters can handle surge current between 60A to 80A depending on the model, and surge capacity between 8kVA and 10kVA. Weighing in at a compact 13.8 Kg with an LCD monitor, built in MPPT solar charge controller and capable of handling PV input voltage upto 500VDC, these inverters will surely be seen in many places soon!
Representing the Solis India team were Mr Idrish Khan, CTO, Solis India, Mr Honey Raza, Chief Business Officer, Mr. Shivang Gupta, Senior Marketing Specialist and the extended Solis India team.
Solar Association was represented by its Mr. Kamal Kishore Marwah, President Delhi NCR, Solar Association, Mr. Jitendra Sharma, President Solar Association, Mr. O.P Taneja, Member EC and his team.
The event ended with a musical performance followed by networking dinner for all attendees.
